In January of 1986, Mark Askew formed Mark Askew Consulting Engineers, which was to eventually become the basis for A2H. A few years later, in 1989, Mark Askew bought Richardson Engineering, whose original owners were the first Shelby County Engineers. The archives of Richardson Engineering contain Memphis Subdivision Plats going back to the late 1800's.
Ed Hargraves became a Partner in 1991 and Pat Harcourt later joined as a Partner in 1996. The firm has since evolved into a full service engineering, architectural, planning, landscape architecture and surveying company with over 50 employees.
A2H's licensed professionals have vast experience in a variety of engineering fields, permitting our experienced professionals to provide clients with a single source for their engineering, architectural, and planning needs. Our professionals are trained to serve as an extension of the client's own capabilities. Assigned project teams provide specialization in surveying and land development; civil, structural, electrical and mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) engineering; landscape architecture (softscapes, hardscapes, and public approvals); and architectural design.
