A2H has performed Seismic Risk Assessments for public and private clients in the Memphis area relating to buildings located close to the New Madrid seismic zone. This zone is still seismically active and has produced three of the largest earthquakes in North America. Most existing buildings in the Memphis area were not designed to resist earthquakes; thus, these buildings might sustain severe damage from moderate to large earthquakes. A2H structural engineers can evaluate structures and determine seismic risk reduction measures needed to be take for building's structural and non-structural elements or utilities.
