Construction Begins on the Shelby County Center for Safety & Justice

Construction is officially underway on the Shelby County Center for Safety & Justice, a new facility designed to provide compassionate, treatment-centered support for individuals in the justice system who are experiencing mental health challenges.

Located adjacent to existing county justice facilities, the new center represents a thoughtful step forward in how our community approaches public safety and care. Rather than defaulting to incarceration, the project aims to offer early intervention, short-term stabilization, and a pathway to long-term wellness for those in need.

A2H is proud to serve as the lead design firm for this transformative effort. Together with our national and local design partners, we have worked closely with Shelby County leadership to create a facility that is safe, accessible, and rooted in dignity. The design supports a full continuum of care, including evaluation, counseling, and discharge planning that connects individuals to ongoing services after release.

We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a project that reflects such a meaningful investment in the well-being of our community. This work closely aligns with our mission to create an enhanced quality of life for our clients and community, and we are honored to help bring it to life.
