A2H has expanded its planning practice with the addition of Jonathan Flynt, AICP, LEED AP, as Director of Planning and Scott Henninger, PLA, AICP, as Senior Planner.
Bringing Jonathan and Scott to A2H together represents a significant expansion of the firm’s planning capabilities. Their complementary experience across public- and private-sector planning, urban design, landscape architecture and community engagement strengthens A2H’s ability to help clients and communities translate long-term goals into thoughtful, implementable plans.
Jonathan Flynt: Connecting Design and Community Strategy
Jonathan brings 15 years of planning and urban design experience spanning downtown and comprehensive master planning, urban infill, transit-oriented development, town centers, and bicycle and pedestrian planning. His architectural background allows him to connect decisions at the site and building scale with broader neighborhood, community and regional strategies.
Public engagement has been central to Jonathan’s work. He has led workshops, charrettes and stakeholder presentations that help communities establish a shared vision and translate that vision into practical guidance for future growth and investment.
His regional experience includes the Jackson Small Area Plan and Design Guidelines, Old Germantown Streetscape Plan, Mid-South Regional Greenprint and Sustainability Plan, Arlington Depot Square Master Plan, and planning initiatives across Haywood, Hardeman, Tipton and Shelby counties. Jonathan earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma.
Scott Henninger: Experience Across Planning, Design and Implementation
Scott brings extensive experience from both the public and private sides of the planning process. His 13 years with the Town of Collierville’s planning department provide firsthand knowledge of municipal project review, zoning and ordinance administration, public commission presentations, and coordination among planning, engineering, building, fire, police and parks departments.
His broader work encompasses town center planning, redevelopment, design guidelines, streetscapes, transportation and growth management, public engagement, and implementation. Representative projects include the award-winning downtown master plans for Dyersburg and Bolivar, the Downtown Collierville Small Area Plan, and planning and design for the Uptown Memphis, University Place and Legends Park HOPE VI redevelopments.
Scott is a Tennessee registered landscape architect and AICP-certified planner. He also holds CLARB certification and a National Charrette Institute Charrette System certificate and earned a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from West Virginia University.
