The City engaged A2H to take an odd-shaped, underutilized stretch of highway frontage and design it as an engaging public space.

The new focal point creates a new pedestrian experience leading into the City’s historic downtown. The area consists of approximately 1.5 acres and serves as a salute to local veterans with a walking trail, U.S. and Tennessee State flags, plus flags for each branch of the armed services. Monuments and decorative benches have shaped the space into an immersive history lesson.

Nearby parking makes the pocket park accessible for both pedestrians making their way downtown, but also positions Veterans’ Park as a tourism destination and way for anyone to engage with the City’s rich history and the decorated heroes of Savannah, Tennessee.
