Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and the Department of Economic and Community Development recently approved more than $27.6 million in Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) to assist small- and medium-sized communities with infrastructure improvements, housing rehabilitations, and health and safety initiatives.
Each year, our firm assists counties and municipalities in planning, securing, and utilizing grant funding for CDBG projects across West Tennessee. The allocation of CDBG funds is based on priorities set through a local public meeting process, which defines opportunities for economic growth and sustainability and stakeholder priorities.
This year, three A2H clients have projects that were awarded funding through the CDBG program: the City of Bells, the Town of Kenton, and the City of Alamo. Each of these municipalities selected sewer system improvement projects, which will provide the cities with critical infrastructure needed to better service existing residents, and encourage future residential and commercial development.
