Marshall County Health Center, an 8,000 square foot medical office building, is the first project in a new series of buildings being constructed in conjunction between local and county governments. The team was engaged in an effort to provide medical expertise and deliver a fresh approach to design in the community. Predominately a small, blue collar town, Lewisburg and county stakeholders sought to replace the existing, 1970’s county health center in order to transition into a modern healthcare model and facility to better serve providers and residents.
The new health center houses a suite of exam rooms, medical offices, community room, and other support functions. A primary design consideration was the entry condition for patient experience. The team took a tasteful approach to stay within the rural vernacular of the area, while also introducing contemporary features and materials.
